Police in Entebbe are investigating circumstances under which a student of Kisubi Mapeera Secondary School drowned in Lake Victoria on Sunday afternoon.
Spy Uganda has learnt that the yet to be identified student, believed to have been an S.4 candidate, drowned as he tried to swim with his friends.
By the time of filing this story, the Uganda Marine Police were still hunting for the body, which was still missing.
However, it should be noted that several people have in the recent past drowned in Lake Victoria although the police are intensifying measures to reduce accidents on the lake. We shall keep you updated in our next bulletin.
