Kampala: City business tycoons under their umbrella body ‘Kwagalana Group‘ have Tuesday donated a brand new 4×4 Hilux pickup truck to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) National response Task Force as a way of boosting efforts to combat the pandemic in Uganda.
The pickup was handed over to the COVID-19 Taskforce by Kwagalana Group Chairman tycoon Godfrey Kirumira of popular Kirumira Towers who was flanked by fellow members of the Group.
The donation was in response to President Yoweri Museveni’s appeal to all companies and members of the business community in Uganda to donate brand new vehicles to the National COVID-19 Task Force, as a way of furthering their efforts in the fight against the global pandemic.
Shortly after handing over the vehicle to the task force, tycoon Kirumira posted thus on his social media; “Hello Ugandans;
Through the Kwagalana Group where i serve as chairman, we donated a brand new 4×4 double cabin to the Covid19 National taskforce.
However it should be noted that our members made individual donations. That is to say; Dr Sudhir Ruparelia contributed two pickups, Mr Ben Kavuya made earlier contributions in Rukungiri and Kabula, Mr Posiano Ngabirano contributed in Rukungiri, Mr Joseph Yiga contributed a pick up, Ham Enterprises made a contribution of 100,000,000#, Dr Sarah Nkonge made an earlier contribution in Lwengo among others. We pledge to endlessly support our beloved country.”
He added thus; “I further forward heartily gratitude to the president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Ministry Of Health notably; Dr Ruth Acheng, Dr Diana Atwine and Mrs Robinah Nabbanjja. The chairperson of the Covid 19 national task force Mrs Mary Karooro Okurut. All your selfless works are commendable.
I wish all Muslims a blessed month of Ramadan may Allah accept that sacred deed. May we all pray for our country to overcome the pandemic as we continue to observe relentlessly the guidelines given by the ministry of health.
