Kyagulanyi Family Contributes 20k As NUP Launches Fundraising Campaign Targeting 1.17trillion

Kampala: The newly born political but booming political party National Unity Platform (NUP) led by Kyadondo East legislator and presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has today launched a fundraising campaign targeting 1.17 trillion Uganda shillings, to facilitate electoral process ahead of the 2021 general elections.

According to the party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, there is need to gather all possible resources to enable them smoothly participate in the forthcoming general elections with hope to champion them.

Speaking at the party headquarters in Kamwokya today, Joel said “We all know that the electoral process requires a lot of resources which resources are out there with our supporters who yearn for change,”

In the same vein, Ssenyonyi unveiled party’s Secretary-General Aisha Kabanda as the chairperson of the fundraising committee, who will be deputized by the former National Resistance Movement (NRM) publicity secretary in Mityana, Dr. Gordon Sematiko.

In her remarks, Aisha Kabanda said that the chief fundraiser will be the NUP presidential flag bearer, Robert Kyagulanyi.

Kabanda added that although any fee or donation will be accepted, the fundraising drive seeks to raise 1.17 trillion shillings and this can be achieved if at least 12 million Ugandans contribute ten thousand shillings to their fundraising team.

“The uphill task can be made easy if all of us agree that we can achieve our goal. We are sure that we can raise this money,” Kabanda said.

Presidential hopeful Kyagulanyi, in his remarks, said that is this a very small price to pay for the country’s freedom and urged all their well-wishers and supporters to contribute for the betterment of Uganda.

Kyagulanyi also made the very first contribution of Shs20,000 to the fundraising drive with Shs10,000 being his and other Shs10,000 being on behalf of his wife, Barbara Itungo Kyagulanyi.

Ghetto gladiator later spread the fundraising gospel on his social media platforms where he posted;

“It is small actions of committed men and women which eventually bring down a mighty oppressive regime. Revolutions are not made in the boardroom.

They are made in our towns and cities, in our mosques and churches, in our homes and workplaces. This is where committed citizens do small actions which build up a current that powerful guns cannot resist.

I am always grateful to see these pictures of comrades doing actions that further our revolution. Keep on keeping on. We shall overcome. Victory is in sight.”
