By Peter Ssebulime

A group of four Law Development Center (LDC) students have dragged the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to high court Civil Division for withholding 2017 UCE  results without according the affected students a fair hearing.

Byansi Henry, Lwagoba James, Bwire Ronald and Ssebaduka David are seeking among others court orders to have the withheld results released and suspension of center Numbers by UNEB revoked since they didn’t apply the notion of natural justice and it’s them that failed in fulfilling their mandate.

The applicants also want each of the withheld 4525 students results from 112 centers by UNEB over examination malpractice to be compensated with five million shillings each which totals to Shs.22.625 Billion due to the fact that the affected students have gone through humiliation due to UNEB’s actions which is not only unfair but also illegal, irrational, unjust, inoperative, and thus null and void.

The applicants also wondered why UNEB punishes the students but let its staff, invigilators and supervisors to walk Scot free since none of them has been implicated or charged over the same by UNEB.
