Just few days after Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament Rt.Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga quashed an LGBT debate at IPU, she has been honoured with an award at the London Political Summit 2018 for her exceptional and exemplary work!
Kadaga has been honored for her great work as a Speaker in Uganda and Africa spanning over a decade of experience in leadership skills and inspiration to many African girl child.
The two-day summit was organized by Ring for Change Foundation (RCF) in collaboration with the London Metropolitan University and was held at the British House of Parliament, Portcullis house, Grimond Room in Westminster, London.
The London Political Summit 2018 also honored Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga as esteemed leaders of African politics for their historic political sportsmanship and adherence to the principle of political tolerance.
Meanwhile, on Saturday the AU appointed the ODM leader Raila Odinga as High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
AU Chairperson Moussa Mahamat said the move is expected to bolster economic growth in Africa.
“This decision is part of the African Union’s drive to expedite the integration of the continent through infrastructure, in order to promote economic growth and sustainable development. Raila brings with him a rich political experience and strong commitment to the ideals of Pan-Africanism and African integration, as well as a deep knowledge of infrastructure development,” Mahamat said in a statement.
