Kampala, Uganda: Kampala Lord Mayor Salongo Erias Lukwago has  today officiated at the launch of the official Local Council Stamps for Kampala, and warned all LC1 Chairpersons to be  careful when using them.

Lukwago handed over the stamps at a function held at the Lord Mayor’s Parlor, which was witnessed by the five Kampala Urban Division Mayors,   Legal Director at Kampala Capital City Authority – KCCA Mr. Charles Ouma, and Town Clerks. While addressing the media shortly before passing on each package to the respective Urban Division Mayors, who will again organize modalities of distributing the same to the individual L.CI  and L.CII Chairpersons, Lukwago noted that the institution took a decision to form a uniform stamp in a bid to fight fraud. Following the election and swearing in of LCI and LCII leaders, 96 Stamps for LCII Chairpersons and 852 Stamps for LCI Chairpersons were procured. LCII Stamps bear the KCCA logo plus the name of the Ward and the name of the Village for LCIs.

During the distribution process, every Chairperson will acknowledge receipt of the stamp by signing for it on top of providing a photocopy of the National ID, two  passport photos and a specimen signature.
