Mane Set To Become Liverpool’s Highest-Paid Player With Huge New Contract

England: Liverpool are in talks with Sadio Mane over another new contract – and this one could make him the club’s highest-paid player.

The Senegal ace only penned a new deal until 2023 last November, which bumped his wages up to around £150,000-a-week and he has been vital to Liverpool’s recent success.

But, according to reports, Liverpool are now ready to offer Mane an improved deal less than a year later, as a reward for his brilliant form in their front-line.

The 27-year-old ended last season with 26 goals in all competitions and was joint-winner of the Premier League Golden Boot, alongside team-mate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He already has six goals in seven appearances since the start of the new campaign, affirming his status as one of Jurgen Klopp’s most important players.

And Liverpool are ready to hand him a new deal to match his status, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming they are now in talks to extend Mane’s contract.

Some journalists writes that the new terms would see Mane commit his next five-and-a-half years to Anfield and earn a salary of £11.5m per year – which equates to £220,000-a-week.Sadio Mane shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah last season, but could soon be earning more than his Liverpool team-mates.

That would see Mane earn more than Liverpool’s current top earner Mohamed Salah, who currently earns £200,000-a-week, while Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino are both on £180,000.

The reports will be welcomed by Reds fans, with Mane routinely linked with a possible departure and reports linking Real Madrid with a keen interest in the former Southampton flyer.
