Kampala: The Inspector General of Police – IGP Martin Okoth Ochola has ordered a post-mortem check to establish the cause of the untimely death of his deputy Maj Gen Paul Lokech.
Ochola revealed this in a social media post made on Saturday morning after learning about Lokech’s death.
“With deep sorrow, I regret to announce the sudden death of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Major General Paul Lokech. I have tasked the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Moses Byaruhanga to carry out a post-mortem to establish the cause of death,” he tweeted.
Maj Gen Lokech died on Saturday morning.
Lokech becomes a second UPDF General to die in a space of less than a week following the death of Lt Gen Pecos Kutesa who died in India on Tuesday.
