The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has clarified that former Premier Rt. Hon Patrick Amama Mbabazi has never quit the NRM Party.
While appearing on NTV’s ‘On the spot’ show hosted by Patrick Kamara on Thursday evening, SG Lumumba said the secretariat has no records indicating that Rt. Hon. Amama Mbabazi is a Party deserter.
She added, “He even never returned our card or made any humiliating attacks on the Party and we still treasure him as a member of NRM”.
Lumumba was reacting to questions from Kamara, who was inquiring why Mbabazi had been invited to the National Executive Committee currently underway at State House Entebbe, yet he had quit NRM and started a pressure group called ‘Go Forward.’
Lumumba further urged the Party leadership to pick lessons from the current trend of events between H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Mbabazi.
“Genuine friendship lasts forever. The two have been good friends for long and as their juniors we only need to pick lessons from them”, she stressed.
About preparations ahead of the National Delegates Conference this Saturday, SG Lumumba said the Party was proceeding well with accreditation of all NEC members completed in Kololo yesterday.
