A Tragic Loss on 3rd May 2025
Rajiv Ruparelia passed away on Saturday, 3rd May, 2025, in a fatal car accident along Munyonyo Road in Kampala, Uganda. According to eyewitness reports, the accident occurred in the late evening hours as he returned from a business meeting. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly, Rajiv died on impact. News of his passing sent shockwaves across Uganda and the global diaspora, drawing condolences from heads of state, business leaders, and ordinary citizens whose lives he had touched.

A Life of Purpose and Vision
Rajiv, the only son of renowned businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, was the Managing Director of Ruparelia Group, one of East Africa’s largest privately-owned conglomerates. Under his energetic leadership, the group diversified into sectors such as real estate, education, agriculture, and hospitality. He brought youthful innovation and digital transformation to the business, all while preserving the family’s core values.

Beyond the boardroom, Rajiv was a philanthropist and a champion of youth empowerment. He launched initiatives that funded education, improved access to clean water, and promoted entrepreneurship among young Ugandans. His humility, charisma, and passion for service won him admiration far beyond business circles.
Family, Faith and Legacy
Despite his achievements, Rajiv remained deeply connected to his family and spiritual roots. His bond with his parents was profound, marked by mutual respect and a shared vision for transforming Uganda through ethical business and social impact.

This Bhajan event is a reflection of that spiritual grounding—a sacred offering of love and remembrance. Traditional devotional songs will be sung in his memory, and the community will join in prayer for his soul’s peace and for strength for the grieving family.
Car parking is available at Coston Primary School, just a short walk from the temple.
As we come together in song and prayer, we celebrate the life of a man whose presence brought light, laughter, and inspiration. Rajiv Ruparelia may be gone from our sight, but his spirit and contributions will live on for generations.
