Min.Tumwebaze Peacefully,Officially Hands Over ICT Office To New Minister Nabakooba

Former ICT Minister Frank Kagyigi Tumwebaze has Tuesday afternoon officially and peacefully, handed over office to newly appointed minister Judith Nabakooba.

“Once again I thank God for having enabled me to do my part of work in the last three and half years . I thank H.E Kaguta Museveni for giving me the opportunity to serve our country,” Tumwebaze tweeted soon after handing over.

Nabakooba Nalule Judith is a Ugandan legislator who was born on 28 October 1977.

She is currently the Cabinet Minister for Information, ICT and Communications a post onto which she was appointed on 15 December 2019.

She is the former Police spokesperson of Uganda Police. In 2016 she became the Mityana district Woman MP.

Meanwhile,Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze is a Ugandan educator and politician. He is the current Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 14 December 2019, shifting gear from ICT ministry which he has now switched with Nabakooba.

Frank called on new minister Nabakooba to continue building the weekly cabinet briefing at Uganda media Center to further close communication gaps with the public and the cabinet.

Nabakooba thanked Tumwebaze for the achievements during his time and vowed to use her new office to fight corruption. “If we’re asking for more funding,we should ask for funding to deliver services,not to divert and embezzle. In his speech to us yesterday president cleared said he is tired of corruption, I’m going to work with you in helping the president on addressing this issue of corruption,” Nabakooba said during her speech as she took over from Tumwebaze.
