Minister Lokodo Calls For Peace At UG-Kenya Boarder

State minister for ethics and integrity Fr. Simon Kokodo has called for a strong consolidating relationship between Uganda and its counterpart Kenya in order to cub challenges encountered between the two.
He made these remarks while opening a joint boarder commissioner’s meeting held at Ridah hotel mukono noting, both sides must remain unites despite different in tribes people belongs to.

“This meeting is aimed at strengthening relationship for a cross joint boarder countries especially through tightening our security organs and officers at the boarders” he said.

He commended the government of Uganda for its efforts of disarming guns from Kalamajong which had become a threat to the all region and this has eliminated insecurity in the area.
He adds that the big challenge they are still facing so far is the drug trafficking at the boarders of Busia and Malaba, and illegal importation of sub standard products from one side to another.

In the same vein Uganda’s High Commissioner to Kenya H. E Phibby Otala states that policies passed in East African Community should be implemented as an avenue to cub the problem of conflicts especially resulted from illegal immigration because it is the big challenge she encounter while in her office.

However Mongo Chimwaga the regional commissioner Rift Valley on side of Kenya said, they are finalizing policies regarding punishments the illegal immigrants to Kenya.

The meeting which will last for three days is attended by a number of dignitaries including security officers Members of Parliament from both sides, ministers, RDCs, Ambassadors among others.
