Minister of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Hon. Judith Nabakooba, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to land security and economic empowerment through land ownership. During a significant event in Gomba District, she handed out Certificates of Occupancy to hundreds of bibanja holders, marking a crucial step towards breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering economic growth.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Minister Nabakooba emphasized that a Certificate of Occupancy is a certificate to prosperity, urging recipients to make productive use of their land to uplift their livelihoods. She encouraged them to engage in sustainable farming, business ventures, and investment opportunities to fully maximize the potential of their titled land.

“Breaking through to real wealth starts now. I urged the beneficiaries to be smart and utilize their land well in order to get out of poverty,” the minister stated.

The land titling exercise, which aims to secure land tenure for bibanja owners, was made possible through a collaborative effort involving government agencies, local leaders, and development partners. Minister Nabakooba extended her gratitude to all stakeholders who played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful issuance of land titles in Gomba.
