According to Mityana District Police Commander (DPC), Martin Okoyo, passengers traveling in a Link bus on the Kampala-Fort Portal Highway were Friday 20/5/2022 attacked by armed robbers leaving them empty-handed after taking off with their multimillion properties.

This incident happened at Kigalama in the Mityana district.

According to Police, the victims are currently camped at Mityana Central Police Station.

These come few days after one of this bus company’s coaches caught fire in Wakaliga, Nateete-Kampala, which also followed a deadly accident by the same bus company that killed over 20 passengers in a Fort portal.

Last month government suspended Link buses for a period of two weeks. After that period, Works and Transport Minister, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala announced that they had lifted the suspension saying the bus company had taken the necessary process to address the challenges and had put in place measures to address some gaps.

“Having gone through all the processes and convinced that Link Bus has taken the necessary process to address the challenges and have put in place measures to address gaps that were there, we have taken decision to lift the suspension against Link buses,” Gen Katumba said.
