Mother, Three Children Murdered In Cold Blood

Buikwe: Four family members have been confirmed dead following an attack by unknown gangs at their home in Buikwe district on Sunday night.

The incident happened in Buleega Village, Najja Sub-county Buikwe district. The deceased have been identified as Agnes Nakabugo, who was hacked to death together with her three children identified as Agnes Nassolo aged 16, Owen Wagaba aged 14 and Tracy Zalwango, aged 10. One of the survivors of the attack identified as Joseph Kisekka, son of late Nakabugo, said that “The gang came to our home at around 2:00am when we were sleeping. I was sleeping in a separate room next to the main house. When I woke up in the morning to prepare go to school, I was shocked when I tried to notify my siblings in the main house to wake up but no one was responding.” He added that “The main door was locked by the gang from outside and I entered the house through the window, I was shocked to find my mother and the three sisters lying in a pool of blood.”

Kisekka said Nassolo and Wagaba were students of Buwooya Trust Academy and Zalwango was a Primary five pupil at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Primary School, Makindu. The Buikwe District Police Commander, DPC Alex Wabwire confirmed the incident and said that the police managed to recover machetes and an axe  at scene of crime. He added that during the investigations police officers at the scene recovered blood stained clothes from a nearby house which is rented by casual workers at a private sugarcane plantation. He noted that these are the chief suspects in this murder case because all of them are on the run. Wabwire added that they also recovered other weapons which include an axe and panga. The chairperson LC V Buikwe district Mathias Kigongo tasked the police to look for the  suspects and produce them in court to answer for multiple murders.
