MultiChoice Adds African Lifestyle Channels To Its Package

Kampala: MultiChoice – Africa’s most-loved storyteller has announced a brand-new Pan-African lifestyle channel on the DStv channel 173 dubbed Honey.

In addition to their legendary Sports, Education and Movie channels, the new HONEY channels will showcase unscripted lifestyle TV content for curious and connected Africans while celebrating and exploring African lives, love, fashion, food, weddings, dating, as well as reality.

“The HONEY channel which will go live in February next year is part of an ongoing effort to enhance our customers’ viewing experience and delight them with additional content, MultiChoice is thrilled to bring this latest venture in African storytelling through the HONEY channel that we have launched today for our DStv customers on Compact, Compact Plus and Premium,” said Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Uganda.

“Furthermore, we are set to add the Pearl Magic Prime (PMP) channel in February 2021, which reflects the best of who we are as storytellers, with high quality entertainment that has not been seen in the market before. The stories will be exclusive for PMP viewers, creating a place where every Ugandan star shines as they stand shoulder with the continent’s best talent,” mentioned Asiimwe.

Asiimwe added that, “there is a continued upward lifestyle-viewership trend on the continent, thus making the addition of Honey and the Pearl Magic Prime channels timely, as we offer our audience the entertainment that appeals to them.”

The honey channel will be broadcasted in Uganda and in all key African countries including; Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Angola, Mozambique, Tanzania, DRC, Cameroon and South Africa. Keeping with the continent’s effervescent energy and vibrance, the channel will be a tapestry of African producers with exciting storylines and cross-continental casting, making HONEY, a go-to channel for authentic African storytelling.
