President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today Saturday November 02, 2019 bestowed upon Deputy Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki the grand position of Chancellor of Lira University.
Justice Odoki was installed as Lira University’s first ever Chancellor during the University’s maiden graduation ceremony held today in Lira district, at which 192 graduands received degrees, diplomas and certificates in various fields of study.
Shortly after the ceremony, president Museveni, who was the Chief Guest, wrote thus on social media;
“I installed Chief Justice Emeritus Dr. Benjamin Odoki as the Chancellor for Lira University and Prof Dr. Jasper Ogwal-Okeng as the Vice-Chancellor.
I also officiated at the first graduation ceremony of the institution, where one hundred ninety-two (192) students graduated in disciplines of Science and Management.”
He added that “I congratulate the students and caution them to make their life choices wisely, most importantly they should stay alive and healthy if they are to ably contribute to the development of this country.
I pledge to tarmac the road to the University and the roads in the entire university.”
