NBS TV Boss Kin Kariisa Buys Off Isaiah Katumwa’s Struggling Jazz FM, Swears To Give Bloody Nose To Competitors

Chief executive officer of Nbs Television Mr.Kin Karisa has bought the Ntinda based struggling 106.1 Jazz Fm and promised to give a bloody nose to competitors in the radio business, just like he has so far clearly lived up to his promise in the television sector.

After acquiring the new station, Karisa rebranded it to ‘Next Radio’ as part of his mother company the Next media Services.

Kariisa in an exclusive interview with this reporter a few months ago at his office intimated that he was determined to expand his media empire  to a ‘360 degree’. He had also hinted on it last year as he launched Next Media Services to manage all his media networks under one roof and watchful eyes of his blue eyed ‘boy’ Joel Kigozi, his chief strategist.

Kariisa is reported to have coughed a whooping Shs2.5Billion to buy the struggling station with hopes to resurrect it to rhyme with the times.

That’s not all, in order to a chief this, Kariisa has gone ahead to hire veteran Radio presenter Marcus Kwikiriza who recently went into retirement from the Kisementi based 91.3 Capital Fm  to manage the Radio. Murcus now bounces back into the radio business not as a presenter but as the General Manager of Next Radio.

Marcus has a wide experience of over 20 yrs in Radio business and has traded his skills in 3 countries i.e Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda.

Currently Next Radio is busy recruiting the greatest voices on the land to take over Uganda’s airwaves, the Next Radio.
