The management of NBS TV has fired the station’s news producer Moses Lubega and suspended their reporter Stephen Olweny for allegedly misquoting the minister of health Jane Ruth Acheng during her speech about the national Measles-Rubella vaccination.

The disciplinary action against the two journalists was communicated in a memo sent to all staff, shortly after NBS TV issued a public apology about the same saga.

It should be noted that last week NBS TV broadcast a news article in which they reportedly portrayed the health minister indicating that the Measles-Rubella vaccines had adverse side effects that are fatal, which she later refuted.

The Memo from NBS TV communicating the firing of the News Producer and suspension of the the reporter is here below;

Relatedly, Stephen Olweny, the reporter of this story, has been suspended from duty for two (2) months. Warning letters have also been handed out to other employees that were involved in the same process.
