Nation Media Group (NMG) has announced that its television, radio and print outlets across Uganda will resume full operations on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The announcement marks the return of several of the country’s leading media brands, including NTV Uganda, Spark TV, Daily Monitor, KFM, The EastAfrican, Nation Courier and other NMG platforms.

The outlets had been off air and unavailable to audiences following a disruption that affected their operations in late June. Some of the platforms began gradually resuming operations in late July after engagements with relevant authorities.

In a message to its audiences, NMG thanked Ugandans for their patience and support during the period its platforms were unavailable.

We missed you too! We noticed your messages. See you soon, 6 August 2026,” the media group said in a message shared with the public.

The announcement has generated excitement among viewers, listeners and readers who have been waiting for the return of their favourite news programmes, radio shows and newspapers.

NMG staff have also expressed optimism about the return, with journalists and presenters sharing messages signalling their readiness to get back to work.

The full resumption is expected to restore NMG’s television, radio and print services to audiences across the country, bringing back its regular news, current affairs, entertainment and other programming.

The return of the outlets on August 6 is also expected to provide a significant boost to Uganda’s media landscape, where NMG has maintained a prominent presence through its multiple platforms.
