NUP Unveils Bobi Wine’s Official Campaign Poster Ahead Of Nomination

Kampala: The National Unity Platform (NUP) has unveiled the official poster that their party presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine will use for the 2021 general election campaigns.

In addition, party secretary Rubongoya speaking at the event revealed that next on the agenda will be launching the party manifesto before they officially kick off campaigns next month.

“Our manifesto is in the final stages and it will be launched soon. Today we aren’t launching the poster alone but the slogan for our campaign, which is “A New Uganda” Rubongoya said.

It’s worth noting that a number of posters of presidential and parliamentary aspirants belonging to NUP were pulled down in the past few weeks by police claiming that they were blocking visibility in the city-according to the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga.

While addressing journalists, NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said that the poster will be placed everywhere around the city and across the country because it is within the law.

“We want to warn the police to leave our posters because we are operating within the law. We have seen incidents where our Members of Parliament and presidential candidate’s posters are pulled down by the police, this should stop,” Ssenyonyi warned.

This event was done in Bobi wine’s absence who is in Mbale and set to appear at Mbale High Court for the ruling of his Talk Show case. Nevertheless, after his party unveiled his campaign poster he posted on his Facebook account saying; “When the struggle is over, we shall wear the victors’ crown in A NEW UGANDA.”

Bobi Wine becomes the second aspirant to unveil the official poster after NRM officially unveiled that of incumbent President Yoweri Museveni last week with the slogan “Securing Your Future.”

Meanwhile, the NUP leader is set to be duly nominated to contest for the country’s top seat next week on November 3.

By yesterday, Electoral commission had only out of the 22 aspirants verified signatures of 4 candidates including Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni (NRM), Henry Tumukunde (Ind), Nancy Kalembe (Ind) and Fred Mwesigye who is also Independent.

The other prominent candidates awaiting verification include FDC’s Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA), A.N.T’s Gen Mugisha Muntu Gregory and Joseph Kabuleta who is also vying on an independent ticket.
