Kampala: Ugandans can never disappoint when it comes to partying, especially if the party in particular has lots of Nyama Choma and Booze!

That is exactly what happened at the roast and rhyme fest, which was held at Jahaz Pier in Munyonyo, over the weekend. Our Spies reveal that the recently concluded event was one of kind, because it attracted more people compared to past events, who partied from dusk till dawn. There was lots of booze and all tribes of roasted meat, which revelers savoured from morning till late in the night, as they enjoyed performances from various local artistes and comedians.

Those who carried their own stoves and barbecue kits were offered free beer from main sponsors Bell Lager. The event, which was organised by Swangz Avenue, had a number of food vendors selling barbecued meat, candy and all sorts of snacks, while others even kicked it up a notch by roasting maize, which celebs like Andrew Kyamagero and others enjoyed who couldn’t afford meat enjoyed. Emceed by Roger Mugisha, this edition featured performances from Giovanni Kiyinji, Tamba, Sam Kimera, Patrick Salvador and Jose Chameleone who was the headliner of the show.

After Salvador cracking a few jokes for the revelers there was a surprise from Red Banton, who thrilled partiers with his classics like ‘Nonya Money’ and ‘Siva Kampala’.

The music legend Jose Chameleone then stepped on stage amidst ululations and drove partiers gaga with his hits like ‘Mama Mia’, ‘Champion’ and others. After live performances, DJ Crim treated partiers to club bangers from Uganda and across borders, making them groove the night away.
