The Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward at Rubaare Health Centre IV was officially commissioned today in a ceremony attended by top government officials, politicians, religious leaders, and local residents. The facility, donated by the Kariisa family in memory of their late mother, aims to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services in the district.

Built in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, the modern maternity ward is expected to ease congestion in the existing facilities and improve access to safe delivery services. Health officials say the facility will enhance the quality of care for mothers and newborns while strengthening emergency response capabilities.

Equipped with baby warmers, incubators, theatre lights, patient monitors, and stainless steel trolleys, the ward is designed to support both routine maternity services and critical interventions.

The commissioning marks a significant step toward improving healthcare infrastructure in the region, demonstrating how public-private partnerships can make a lasting impact on community wellbeing.
