The race toward the festive season kicked off in style over the weekend as Pan African Pyramid (PAP) and TheSpy Uganda staff and members were treated to a sumptuous luncheon hosted by their founder and chairman, Andrew Irumba Katusabe. The vibrant gathering, held at One Love Beach in Busabala, served as both a celebration and a moment of reflection for the Pan-Africanist community.
The event drew PAP’s closest supporters, partners, and friends of Irumba, turning the lakeside venue into a hub of fellowship, laughter, and renewed commitment to the Pan-African spirit. Members used the moment to look back at this year’s achievements, challenges, and lessons learned, especially from the PAP Global Awards 2025 held in August.
In a key highlight of the afternoon, the PAP Speaker officially launched the next major item on the organisation’s annual calendar: “PAP Xmas With Refugees 2025,” scheduled for December 22 at Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Kikuube District.
According to Irumba, the initiative is rooted in PAP’s long-standing belief in Ubuntu, serving humanity with compassion and solidarity. Through the programme, PAP mobilises relief items from its members, well-wishers, local markets, and all Pan-Africanists who feel a moral duty to support refugees fleeing conflicts and instability caused by oppressive systems and warmongers in their home countries.
He confirmed that the Office of the Prime Minister and the refugee department have already cleared the organisation to proceed. ”In the coming days, PAP will roll out a market outreach drive to mobilise donations including clothes, dry foods, sanitary items, and other essentials,” he said.
Irumba encouraged all well-wishers to drop their contributions at the designated collection points like: Benita Restaurant in Bukoto, Fairway Hotel in Nakasero, and Satellite Hotel in Kisaasi.
The event also doubled as a heartfelt celebration for Irumba’s birthday. In a surprise arranged by PAP members and supporters, gifts and a large cake were secretly prepared and presented to him during the boat cruise on Lake Victoria. The cake-cutting ceremony on the water added a unique and unforgettable touch to the day, leaving Irumba visibly moved and elated.
Later, members enjoyed a hearty meal and the scenic cruise, turning the event into a lively end-of-year celebration filled with laughter, bonding, and renewed purpose.
In essence, the event doubled as the PAP and TheSpy Uganda end-of-year party and the official launch of the PAP Xmas With Refugees 2025 project, a reminder that even in celebration, the spirit of giving remains at the heart of the Pan African Pyramid.
