Kampala: Uganda State House official, to be more precise, President Yoweri Museveni’s Senior Press Secretary Don Wanyama has blasted newly appointed United States Ambassador to Uganda HE. Natalie E. Brown, following her recent comments about the controversial manner in which Human Rights lawyer Nicholas Opio was arrested.

Via Embassy’s official Twitter handle, Natalie condemned how court yesterday (Thursday) handled Opio’s case, saying all the government aimed at was to keep him in detention, which is, according to her, a threat to human rights in the banana republic.

“Disappointed to learn that the only decision taken today wrt to the charges against @NickOpiyo was to remand his case to another court and to continue to detain him. #JusticeDelayedIsJusticeDenied,” Natalie tweeted.

Minutes after Natalie’s statement landed, seemingly disturbed president’s watch dog Don Wanyama responded thus; “Please take time to appreciate your host country’s systems. There’s nothing like “remand case to another court”. Importantly, respect our processes. Imagine if all our views on President Trump’s pardon of Stones, Manafort & Kushner counted!”
