Police Confirms 2 Dead In Nansana Armed Robbery

Kampala: The Uganda Police have confirmed that two people died and two others sustained grave injuries after being shot by armed thugs.

The deceased and injured were shot who four thugs attacked Cheap General Hardware in Nansana, from where they robbed millions of shillings. A statement issued by the police spokesperson Patrick Onyango this evening reads in part thus; Today 29th, May, 2019, at 1430 hours, six armed thugs robbed Cheap General Hardware shop at Nansana municipality, Wakiso district.

The robbers were moving on three unidentified motorcycles. Three of the robbers were armed with AK-47 rifles. They shot dead two workers of the said hardware shop identified as Atuhura Jimmy the Assistant Manager and Aruho Frank. Two others were injured and rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment.” The statement also adds that “The thugs who were wearing masks came at a time when the cashiers were about to take the money to the bank. The robbers stole an unspecified amount of money. Our investigators are on ground and we are pursuing the robbers.”
