Politics In Sports: The Junta Gov’t Won’t Spare Anyone! Bobi Wine Reveals Why Aucho Was Dismissed From Cranes Camp

Following the news of Uganda cranes star Khalid Aucho’s dismissal from the cranes camp due to alleged indiscipline according to  FUFA, National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Alan Bobi Wine has revealed fresh allegations about the matter trashing those announced by the federation.

In FUFA’s communication on Saturday, the players had failed to adhere to the national team code of conduct and FUFA circular, which Kyagulanyi trashes saying matters rotates on the political affiliation of the player.

Bobi wine in his Facebook post revealed: “l have learnt about the dismissal of Khalid Aucho from our national football team, the Uganda cranes, in the run-up to next week’s AFCON Qualifier games against Burkina Faso and Malawi.”

“FUFA, our football authority, claims that Khalid was dismissed for alleged indiscipline. But it appears as can be deduced from these screenshots that, there is more to Khalid’s fate than meets the eye,” he added.

He further noted that Khalid has in recent times identified himself as an athlete who is conscious of the injustices orchestrated against his fellow citizens by the State and it’s institutions.

“He has been using his social media channels to speak out against this injustice, and to sympathise with the victims. It is unfortunate that he is now the latest victim of the state’s persecution of those that stand with the people,” Kyagulanyi stated.

It should be remembered that according to the statement released by FUFA on Friday, Aucho is alleged to have refused to board the official means of transport organised to pick him from Entebbe International Airport to the team camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi and had not even reported to camp since his arrival in the country.

The statement further noted that the player’s club Misr El Makkasa and Egypt Football Association had been duly informed about the decision and a return air ticket had been issued to him for his travel back to Egypt.
