President Yoweri Museveni has on Tuesday held a meeting with a group of Cuban medics led by Dr. Hector Luis Machado Morales over ticks endemic in Uganda.
According to senior presidential press secretary Don Wanyama, scientists are in Uganda to check on health structures for the whole week and help in fighting deadly animal diseases.
“Ugandans should be happy that such a team of established scientists are in the country to help in fighting several diseases” Don said.
It has also been established that Cuban scientists will give guidelines on how to fight ticks from domestic animals which have become rampant.
President Museveni implored the Cuban scientists to give out their expertise so that diseases Can be easily wiped out.
Prof. Anthony Mugisha who is leading Ugandan scientists told the President that the Programme implementation will begin with the most affected districts in the country.
