The President of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has Tuesday July 28th, 2020 returned the National Resistance Movement (NRM) nomination forms for the 2021 presidential elections.
Museveni, who arrived at the NRM Secretariat at Plot 10 Kyadondo Road, a few minutes after 11:00AM, was accompanied by the First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni, who is also the Minister for Education and Sports.
It should be noted that President Museveni, who is also the NRM National Chairperson, was nominated as Party leader for the 5th term. Museveni is seeking to carry NRM flag for a re-election as Uganda’s President, having ascended into power in power since 1986.
However, he is facing stiff resistance from People Power leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who is set to contest for presidency under his new party the National Unity Platform (NUP).
But apart from Bobi Wine and his NUP, president Museveni is likely to contest against many other presidential contenders like Elias Lukwago, Norbert Mao of Democratic Party, Rtd. Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation, to mention but a few.
