Kampala: For Priscilla Nakayenze, journalism is more than a profession, it’s a mission. A mission to challenge the status quo, amplify women’s voices, and ensure that every story told is rooted in truth, balance, and impact.

As an editor at Nile Post, Priscilla is helping shape Uganda’s media landscape with integrity, accuracy, and a deep passion for storytelling.

Her journey into journalism was sparked by a desire to disrupt the traditional, male-dominated narrative in newsrooms and leadership. “I wanted to be part of the shift that proves we, too, belong in editorial roles,” she says.

That desire drove her to Nile Post, where she now plays a critical role in guiding news coverage and mentoring upcoming journalists.

Known for her versatility, Priscilla is passionate about political reporting, investigative journalism, sports, and human interest stories. “Every story matters and every sector deserves coverage,” she says. Her work reflects this belief, drawing from a broad knowledge of local and global developments to inform her approach.

One story that left a lasting mark on her career was a piece on Parliamentary Commissioner Mathias Mpuuga, who revealed that he once aspired to be a Catholic priest.

The story ran during a period of political unrest, offering a softer, more introspective view of a public figure usually caught in the thick of political battles. “It reminded me of the power of storytelling—to humanize, to connect, and to reflect the layers behind public personas,” she reflects.

At Nile Post, Priscilla is proud to be part of a platform that champions speed, accuracy, and consistency. Whether it’s breaking news, business insights, or in-depth features, Nile Post has positioned itself as a trusted source for Ugandans. “It’s a platform that prioritizes factual reporting and real-time updates. That’s what sets us apart,” she adds.

In an era where misinformation spreads quickly, Priscilla holds tight to the fundamentals. “I prioritise facts over hearsay. Every story must be verified, balanced, and backed by credible sources,” she says.

With editors like Priscilla Nakayenze at the helm, Nile Post continues to be a beacon of credible journalism—driven by passion, purpose, and the unwavering belief that stories, when told right, can move a nation.
