The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has recovered the previously missing Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) Integrated Science scripts for candidates of Bamure Primary School in Kokobo District, bringing relief to parents, learners, and school administrators.

In a press statement dated February 3, 2026, UNEB confirmed that all the scripts, which had initially been reported missing during the accountability process at the school, were found intact and have now been forwarded to UNEB examiners for marking and subsequent grading.

According to UNEB, the scripts were temporarily unaccounted for when accountability checks were conducted at Bamure Primary School. As a precautionary quality control measure, the affected learners were provisionally awarded an “X” as investigations commenced to establish the whereabouts of the scripts.

UNEB explained that thorough investigations were carried out both at the marking centres and at the school. These efforts led to the discovery of a sealed script envelope, which was found intact in the lockable box designated for UNEB materials in the Headteacher’s office.

To eliminate any doubt, the envelope was first handed over to Koboko Central Police Station for verification. Police confirmed that the envelope had not been tampered with before it was released back to UNEB for marking.
“The scripts have now been passed on to UNEB examiners for marking,” the Board stated, adding that the process will be handled expeditiously to ensure the candidates are graded in time for the selection and placement exercise.

UNEB reassured parents, candidates, and other stakeholders that the integrity of the examinations had not been compromised and that all affected learners will receive their rightful results without disadvantage.

The recovery of the scripts puts to rest fears that the candidates of Bamure Primary School could miss out on the 2025 PLE results, restoring confidence in UNEB’s examination management systems.
