Respect your cultures and be more creative to benefit from the education you’ve attained: Tooro King Oyo tips KIU graduands.

The Omukama of Toro  Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi 1V has encouraged young people who have completed their studies to be more creative and progressive as the way of utilizing the education they have attained from Kampala international university.

Oyo who was chief guest on the 16th graduation ceremony held on Saturday at the school’s main compass in Kansanga, urged the graduands to have a greater success in their years of life and be able to utilize the knowledge, skills and attitudes attained not only to make a difference in their but also in the lives of others.

“I urge you to have a greater success in your years of life and hope that you will be able to utilize the knowledge and skills you have acquired from KIU, to be useful not only to you but to the community as well” he noted

He also emphasized on the issue of respecting diversity of ideas and individual achievements supported by a climate that cerebrates each other’s success.

In the same vein the chancellor KIU Professor John Ssebuwufu encouraged the graduands to keep on going up since they are winners, because losers keep on making noise.

A total of 1405 students graduated in various disciplines where by 80% are Ugandans, 20% international.  631students came from the main campus in Kansanga, 756 western campus Mbarara and 18 from dream line. Out of the total number, 65% were males while 35% females. 19 students scored 1st class degrees.

Four graduands that won their PhDs in various disciplines included; Abdulrahuman Salmanulfarisi, Halidu Saidu Ibrahim a PhD in business Management (finance and accounting),
Barigayomwe Rogers B, PhD in public management, and Businge Phelix Mbabazi  a PhD in management Information System.

Meanwhile, the deputy chancellor KIU Dr. Muhammad Mezamihigo was dismayed by what was published in the media that the national council for higher Education put a ban on KIU not to continue admitting students pursuing master’s degrees.
