One would be right to say that the ceremonies for the inauguration of the January 2021 re-elected President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni are smoothly eyeing completion after in few minutes he has sworn in and received instruments of power to continue ruling till 2026.
Amidst thousands of Ugandans from different callibers, state guests and presidents, Museveni has been sworn in by the Chief Justice as he took the oath of allegiance swearing thus;.
“I, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, do swear that I will always truly and diligently serve the people of the Republic of Uganda.”

With out wastage of time, Chief Justice quickly handed to Museveni the instruments of power including Constitution, the national flag, the presidential standard flag, the national anthem, the National Court of Arms and the public seal.
As per the Ugandan constitution, the president is also a Commander of all Armed Forces (CiC), as a result therefore, Museveni received the instruments of national defence including the shield and the sword from the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen David Muhoozi before receiving a 21-gun salute.
Several African presidents including Samia Suluhu Hassan have already arrived for the function. Also invited to attend the ceremony from within the country include all former presidential candidates, ministers and ministers of state, all MPs-elect, members of the Central Executive Committee, some religious and cultural leaders, 17 delegates from each district, members of the East African Legislative Assembly and some members of the business community.
