Rows Aside: Russian Putin & Korean Kim Jong-un Pen Heartfelt Messages To COVID-19 Battling Trump

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Saturday joined world leaders sending messages of sympathy to US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania, wishing them a speedy recovery from the COVID-19 illness.

Mr Trump said he and his wife had tested positive for the coronavirus, and leaders across the world have sent messages of goodwill to the couple.

Korean President said, “I sincerely hope that they will recover as soon as possible. I hope they will surely overcome it, I send warm greetings to them.”

This marks the first time Kim has sent a message to a world leader following exchange of horror threats of destruction and crude insults after North Korea in 2017 carried out a series of high-profile weapons tests aimed at acquiring the ability to launch nuclear strikes on the US mainland.

But they stopped such rhetoric and instead developed a personal relationship after Mr Kim abruptly reached out to Mr Trump in 2018 for talks on the fate of his advancing nuclear arsenal although little progress has been made despite several meetings. ( Nuclear Arsenal is a weapon, such as an atomic bomb or hydrogen bomb, whose destructive power comes from the release of nuclear energy.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin also wished Trump well, “I am convinced that your vitality, good spirits and optimism will help you cope with this dangerous virus,” the Kremlin quoted Mr Putin as saying.

Other leaders that have since sent comforting messages to trump is UAE’s Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, wishing US president and his wife well.

 

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi also tweeted, “My sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to US President Donald Trump and the First Lady,”

He said he wanted the couple to “quickly overcome this stage and return to complete health and wellness to resume leading the valued US efforts to combat this virus worldwide”.

The Prime Minister Of United Kingdom Boris Johnson who spent three nights in intensive care in April after contracting Covid-19 tweeted, “My best wishes to Trump and First lady. Hope they both have a speedy recovery from coronavirus.”

Canadian President Justin Trudeau tweeted, “Sophie and I are sending our best wishes to @POTUSTrump and @FLOTUS. We hope you both get well soon and have a full recovery from this virus.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Wishing my friend @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS a quick recovery and good health.”

Polish President Andrzej Duda tweeted, “Our good wishes for a speedy recovery to our Friends @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS. #Poland and #USA will get through the hardships and succeed in fighting #COVID19.”

In Africa, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa tweeted: “My best wishes to President Trump @realdonaldtrump and the First Lady @FLOTUS as they make a full recovery from COVID-19.”

Isreal’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted, “Like millions of Israelis, Sara and I are thinking of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and wish our friends a full and speedy recovery.”
