Kapeeka: It’s a moment of grief in Kapeeka Town, Nakaseke District after another bomb explosion that has killed one on spot leaving two critically injured.

According to Hon Sarah Najjuma, District Woman MP Nakaseke District, the explosion went off at around 9:30am after one of the residents picked a suspected bomb and started hitting it with a hammer.

Residents identified the victim as Mandela Alfred, aged 23, while the injured are Asiimwe Anthony and Tukwasibwe Nelson. The three are said to be residents in the area but hailing from the Kigezi sub-region.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that Mandela was a scrap metal dealer, and it is suspected that the bomb is one of the projectiles which were fired by the army into the hills where he collected it as scrap.

Upon exploding, Mandela died instantly while Tukwasibwe sustained serious injuries on the head, chest and belly. Asiimwe also sustained injuries on his arms and the head.

It was also confirmed that Tukwasibwe has been rushed to Nakaseke Hospital for medical attention while Asiimwe is being managed at a local clinic.

This comes few hours after another bomb explosion that injured two juveniles at about 3:00 pm at Kujji 1 village, Kujji parish in Tirinyi town council Kibuku District located in Eastern Uganda. The victims are Ivan Namwoyo aged 5, and Innocent Kagoro aged 6.

But also the development follows a report of an explosion at Segalye LC1 village, Semuto Sub County, Nakaseke District earlier this month that killed two.

Remember all these come few weeks after a bomb blast that killed two in Kawempe, Komamboga, and another that killed one in a Swift Safari Bus that was heading to western Uganda-incidences that the government attribute to domestic terror attacks.
