Kampala: According to Traffic Police Spokesperson Faridah Nampiima, three people on new year’s eve succumbed to the terrible accident along Jinja- Kampala Highway in Mabira forest in Buikwe district.
Nampiima says the accident didn’t only three travellers but six others were left critically injured after Toyota Corona rammed into a trailer number UAZ 558P/UAL 793X.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened near Najjembe Trading Centre.
She identified the deceased as Kalema the driver, Lutwama Rajab aged 48 from an unidentified female juvenile aged 4; all of whom were in the Corona.
“Three female adults and one male adult not yet identified while the two Juveniles aged 13 yrs and one aged 7yrs have been identified as children of Lutwama Rajab, the deceased,” she said adding;
“The injured were rushed to Mulago National Referral hospital for further medical attention while the bodies of the deceased were taken to Kawolo hospital mortuary for postmortem.”
