Ugandan diva Sheebah Karungi has joined the government and other celebrities around the world who are rallying all people to engage in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday announced a lockdown in Uganda as a way of mitigating the prevention and spread of Coronavirus.
So as part of her efforts to join hands with the government in the fight against Coronavirus, Sheebah has since sent out a message for thousands of her fans all over Uganda and the entire globe, beseeching them to remain at their homes and ensure that they stay safe.
Sheebah tweeted thus; “Stay Indoors more. Wash your hands more. Sanitize more. Pray more. Stay positive & Love more. GOD ABOVE ALL!”
Sheebah joins a number of celebrities who have since come out to join the fight against Coronavirus, among them Chinese tycoon Jack Ma, who has donated billions worth of testing kits and masks to Uganda and other countries, American singer Rihana, whose foundation has since donated USD5M to help in the fight against the pandemic, soccer star Christiano Ronaldo, who offered to turn one of his hotels into a hospital for Coronavirus patients, among others.
Over the weekend, President Yoweri Museveni issued a new set of guidelines aimed at combating the pandemic in Uganda, after the Ministry of health announced the first case of Coronavirus. He urged Ugandans to avoid using public transport means and stay at their homes, asserted that bars and night clubs will remain closed because they are high-risk places which can easily lead to the spread of Coronavirus.
The President also banned all flights in and out of Uganda and issued a directive banning all foreigners from entering Uganda through all border points, both on land and water.
