Bushenyi: President Yoweri Museveni was shocked on Thursday 25 July 2019 after realizing that he has for a while been corned billions of money by a woman from Bushenyi District called Mable Tumusime who has been masquerading as Mrs Jane Rushegyera, widow to historical late Eliyazali Rushegyera .
It is alleged that Mable, for so many years was calling herself Ms Jane Rushegyera from Rushegyera’s family getting both financial and material support from the President.
Disappointed Museveni got to know that he had for so long been conned last week while meeting Ankole Leaders at Kakyeka stadium when the real Rushegyera’s wife known as Jane Rushegyera stormed the high table carrying a placard revealing how he (Museveni) had forgotten the Late Rushegyera’s Family.
As soon as she started crying, the President asked Minister Karooro Okurut to ask the woman whether it’s true she was Rushegyera’s wife. Museveni got shocked when the Minister replied ‘Yes, your Excellency, she is the one’.
“But we have been supporting Ms Rushegyera for a quite long time, how comes that we have been supporting the ghost? “Museveni wondered.
The President ordered his private secretary Molly Kamukama to get details of the real Ms Rushegyera as he wondered how a woman could dupe him for long.
Late Eliyazali Rushegyera greatly supported the FRONASA and NRA war by providing logistical support and tirelessly mobilized for the bush war between 1981-85, but died in 2005 before he received anything from NRM government, according to family sources.
It is said that since then, his wife started pleading for compensation from President Museveni through local leaders, RDCs among others but all in vain.
However after some time through her friends from State House, she learnt that Ms Mable Tumusiime was receiving money, school fees. The president even went ahead and built for her a magnificent residential at her ‘husband’s’ home in Kyabugimbi Bushenyi District,sources told this reporter.
According to sources, it is alleged that Mable Tumusiime who has been sharing on State House cake through impersonation, was a teacher at Bweranyangi Junior School where she retired from and currently is happily living in Kibale Ward Nyakabirizi Division Bushenyi, Ishaka Municipality.
