Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has rescued Miss Uganda 2019/2020 Phiona Kyeru from misery by helping her to secure a travel ticket to Malaysia, where she will participate in this year’s Miss World beauty pageant.
Spy Uganda has learnt that Kadaga came to to Kyeru’s rescue after she was abandoned by Ministry of Tourism and Uganda Tourism Board, whereby both organisations refused to contribute funds to help her secure air tickets and all necessary upkeeps in Malaysia where she will represent Uganda in Miss Tourism international 2019 .
The Speaker Kadaga came at the last minute by funding the trip and accommodation expenses of Kyeru and her minder, such that she can fly Uganda’s flag high on the international platform.
It should be noted that former Miss Uganda Quin Abenakyo is the reigning Miss World Africa after she scooped the title from several other competitors during last year’s Miss World beauty pageant.
