Speke Resort Munyonyo, in a dynamic partnership with the Indian Association of Uganda (IAU) and the High Commission of India, is set to illuminate Uganda’s culinary and cultural calendar with the Grand Diwali Food Festival slated for Sunday, 19th October 2025 at the luxurious lakeside resort.

The festival, poised to be one of the most vibrant celebrations of the year, will bring together Uganda’s multicultural community in a dazzling showcase of Indian gastronomy, music, and tradition. Diwali, popularly known as the Festival of Lights, symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness—an ethos that resonates globally and transcends cultural boundaries.

Guests will be treated to an expansive array of authentic Indian cuisines, ranging from rich North Indian curries and aromatic biryanis to South Indian delicacies, street food favorites, and contemporary fusion dishes. A constellation of food stalls curated by top chefs and restaurateurs will ensure a sensory feast of flavors, colors, and aromas.

Beyond the culinary delights, the Grand Diwali Food Festival will feature live cultural performances, traditional dances, music ensembles, and vibrant décor inspired by India’s festive heritage. Families can look forward to interactive activities, artisanal craft exhibitions, and a lively marketplace celebrating the spirit of togetherness.

Organizers note that the event is not only a celebration of Indian tradition but also a bridge fostering cross-cultural harmony between Uganda and India, highlighting decades of enduring friendship and economic cooperation.

With Speke Resort Munyonyo’s world-class hospitality and scenic backdrop along the shores of Lake Victoria, the Grand Diwali Food Festival promises an unforgettable evening of light, flavor, and festivity. Gates will open in the afternoon, welcoming food enthusiasts, culture lovers, and families from across the country to partake in this spectacular celebration.

Early reservations are encouraged, as the festival is expected to attract a record turnout from Kampala’s cosmopolitan community and beyond.
