Tears Engulf NUP Offices As Committee Vets Out Bobi Wine’s Brother Eddie Yawe & Patrick Mujuuka

Kamwokya, Kampala: As we report this, a couple of politicians including some incumbent leaders at different levels both in Kampala and its outskirts are shedding tears at National Unity Platform (NUP) offices in Kamwokya following a list released by party’s vetting committee and approved by Executive Board showing out vetted and selected flag bearers for the position of Member of Parliament in the central region.

According to the provisional list that has since shocked a couple of NUP supporters, key party diehards including famous and proud NUP supporter dubbed radio personality Patriko Mujuuka who is contesting for Nakifuma County have been vetted out.

Shockingly also NUP’s President Hon Kyagulanyi’s brother Eddie Yawe who was vetted for the Kira Municipality seat also lost out as the flag was handed to Jimmy Lukwago, a former owner of Kira Young football club.

However, the committee approved Bobi Wine’s elder brother, Fred Nyanzi Sentamu to go ahead and contest for Kampala Central Member of Parliament race where he is going to face ‘solid’ Muhhamad Nsereko among others.

The party’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi was also approved and given the ticket to contest in Nakawa West following an MoU that led Mayor Ronald Balimwezo to accept to give up on West and switched to Nakawa East.

Meanwhile, results from Kawempe North, Kawempe South, and Makindye East were deferred and will have to be re-evaluated-according to Mercy Walukamba who is the chairperson of the election management team. “Results that deferred will be re-evaluated and a team supervised by the party’s Deputy President for Central Region will undertake this task in the next 48 hours.”
