A three-time winner at the Uganda National Journalism Awards (2023, 2024, and 2025), Dan’s work has been recognized for its quality, relevance, and impact. His storytelling has crossed borders, with bylines in international outlets such as The Guardian, The Continent, Minority Africa, and Proximate Press, further affirming his commitment to telling stories that resonate beyond Uganda.
His excellence is backed by rich professional training. Dan is a 2020 Media Challenge Fellow and a 2022 Deutsche Welle (DW) Constructive Journalism Fellow, both of which refined his approach to journalism rooted in empathy, solutions, and truth. His expertise spans data journalism, fact-checking, and digital storytelling, critical skills in today’s evolving news environment.
Dan is also paying it forward. Since 2023, he has served as a mentor with the Media Challenge Fellowship, helping shape the next generation of Ugandan journalists through hands-on training and practical mentorship.
