On the 21st of April 2021 Melbet.ug (Sports Betting Co.) officially launched a campaign to distribute reflector jackets to the Boda Boda community in Kampala at Kiira Police football pitch in Kamwokya. The event was attended by Boda Boda Association leaders, Boda Boda riders, the Uganda Police and Melbet officials.

According to Melbet, this initiative aimed at giving back to its loyal clients especially Boda Boda community that includes Boda Boda users, Boda Boda riders and Boda Boda passengers.
TheSpy Uganda has learnt that this effort will see Melbet distributing 10,000 reflector jackets evenly in all 5 divisions of Kampala over a period of 2 months following the Ministry of Health standard operations guidelines.

Nassuna Teopista Sales Manager Melbet.ug while on the launch of this campaign noted thus; “This campaign has been launched to address the safety concerns of Boda Boda users since the reflector jackets make the users more visible on the road hence reducing the rate of motor accident that could possibly occur.”

Whereas, ASP Kira Road Police station, Afande Baboineki Tomas who also witnessed the launch urged the riders, “Work hard and save, when you have extra money you can use it to play during your free time.”
