Thousands Mourn Police Boss CP Kakooza

Nsambya , Uganda: On Wednesday, St. Peters Catholic Church Nsambya was full to Capacity as thousands of mourners gathered for the requiem mass of senior police officer CP Josephine Kakooza Nampiija who passed away on Tuesday at Namirembe Hospital in Mukono.

Kakooza died on January 9th, 2019 at Namirembe Hospital in Mukono district due to high blood pressure and diabetes. The requiem mass was attended by very many High ranking Police officers among them AIGP Andrew Sorowen, who was  the chief mourner, AIGP Fred Yiga, AIGP Grace Akullo, AIGP Asan Kasingye and other senior police officers.

Several of those who eulogized Kakooza expressed joy at the achievements of the late Police officer for the country. During the  requiem mass that was graced by Father Joseph Ssemanda, many people cherished Kakooza’s work and dedication to the Uganda Police.

The last born of the deceased grieving

Josephine Kakooza Nampijja was born on June 8th, 1955 at Villa Maria Hospital, Masaka district. She was a born of Joseph Kakooza, a former Buganda county chief and Theodora Namutebi. She attended St .Agnes Nagalama from 1960-66 and Trinity College Nabbingo 1966-68, before joining Uganda police Force  in 1970 at the age of 14.

In 1969 she joined police as a probation police Constable, in 1973, she emerged number one in the police force weaponry training. In 1993 she was promoted to assistant Inspector of police, in 2000 she was promoted to Inspector and in 2004 she was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of police. In 2008  she was promoted to Superintendent of Police, in December 2011 she was appointed director of Music in the police force, then was later promoted to Assistant Commissioner before being promoted to Commissioner of Police.
