Police in Mukono have arrested three men in connection with the killing of a casual worker at Makipi Factory, following a swift investigation that involved a sniffer dog and rapid tracking of evidence from the crime scene.

The deceased has been identified as Kamugisha Justas, who was working as a casual laborer at the factory at the time of his death.

The suspects in custody are Kabogoza Charles Kiwanuka, Ozambe James, and Mwayafu Julius Joshua. Police have also mentioned Kazibwe Chrisisto as being linked to the case, and he remains under investigation.


According to police, officers responded to a distress call on April 19, 2026, after reports of a fatal incident at the factory. Upon arrival, investigators deployed a sniffer dog, which tracked crucial items believed to be linked to the crime. Among the recovered evidence was a cap suspected to belong to the deceased, which helped guide officers toward a nearby residence.

Police say Kabogoza Charles Kiwanuka was found hiding at the location and was arrested. During questioning, he reportedly admitted involvement in the killing and implicated his two alleged accomplices. Following his statement, police moved quickly to apprehend Ozambe James and Mwayafu Julius Joshua.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the suspected motive behind the killing, but confirmed that investigations are ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence and record witness statements.


Police in Mukono say more details will be released as the inquiry progresses, and have assured the public of continued efforts to ensure justice in the case.
