Tooro Kingdom’s Princess Damali To Be Buried Wednesday 7th

Bunyangabu: Tooro Kingdom’s Princess Adyeri Damali Noel Komukyeya Kankya, who succumbed to COVID-19 at the age of 72 on 26th June 2021 at her home in Buziga, a Kampala suburb, is set to be buried on Wednesday 7th July 2021-TheSpy Uganda has learnt.

Princess Damali who was born on 24th December 1951 was the aunt to the Tooro Kingdom’s Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi 1V Amooti since she was a sister to late Omukama Patrick David Mathew Kaboyo Olimi III, father to reigning Tooro King.

Damali was also a young sister to princess Elizabeth Bagaya, Gilbert Mujogya and a daughter to late Omukama Sir George Kamurasi Rukidi III and late lady Kezia Byanjeru.

Death Announcement 

Now, according to the death announcement seen by our spy, Damali’s funeral service and burial will take place at Busiita, Bunyangabu district, starting from 11am to 1pm.

”The family of Mr. Patrick Kankya announces the death of their beloved wife and mother, Princess Adyeeri Damali Noel Komukyeya Kankya that occurred on Saturday, 26th June 2021. The funeral service and burial will take place on Wednesday, 7th July 2021 at Busiita, Bunyangabu district, starting from 11 am to 1 pm,” announcement reads in part.

However, due to the prevailing circumstances, the family says only those invited will be able to attend as per the requirements of the government over COVID-19 whereas a live link will be circulated for everyone to follow the funeral service and burial online.

Family quotes the holy book, ”Isaiah 57:1-2: The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. May God rest Adyeeri’s soul in eternal peace.”
