Kampala— City business mogul and Honorary Consul of Nepal to Uganda, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, has officially joined the new era of digitalized vehicle registration after acquiring a high-tech digital number plate for his official diplomatic car.
The sleek white Lexus SUV, now bearing the distinctive red consular plate HC 151 001U, was recently spotted with the advanced digital tag, marking Sudhir among the first high-profile dignitaries in Uganda to embrace the government’s modernized vehicle tracking and identification system.

The new digital plates, rolled out under the Intelligent Transport Monitoring System (ITMS) spearheaded by the Ministry of Works and Transport in partnership with Joint Stock Company Global Security, are designed to enhance national security, curb car theft, and improve road monitoring through real-time vehicle tracking.

As an honorary consul, Sudhir’s vehicle also bears the “CC” (Corps Consulaire) insignia, symbolizing his diplomatic status representing Nepal’s interests in Uganda. The custom consular plate underscores his dual role — not only as one of Uganda’s most influential businessmen but also as a respected envoy facilitating bilateral ties between Kampala and Kathmandu.

Sources within the Ruparelia Group confirmed that the transition to the digital plate was completed this week in line with the new government directive requiring all vehicles to adopt the smart registration system.

The white Lexus, often used by Dr. Sudhir for official consular duties, reflects both class and compliance — merging the sophistication of luxury motoring with the evolving demands of Uganda’s digitized transport infrastructure.
With this move, Sudhir joins a growing list of high-ranking officials, diplomats, and corporate executives adapting to Uganda’s latest vehicular security innovation — a clear statement of leadership and modernization in both business and diplomacy.
