Tycoon Sudhir’s Speke Resort Munyonyo To Host 4th African Judiciary Dialogue

Spy Uganda has learnt that shortly after hosting the Commonwealth Parliamentary conference few weeks ago and minting lots if millions only countable in Dollars to save space and digits, tycoon Sudhir has landed on yet another mouth wetting deal, after one of his many Hotels scooped another juicy deal to host the 4th African Judicial Dialogue Conference, which is running from tomorrow (Thursday) October 30, to Friday November 01, 2019.

The three-day conference is running under the theme’ ‘Tackling Contemporary Human Rights Issues; The Role of the Judiciary in Africa;’ and is a build-up to the themes of the other three editions held in 2013, 2015 2017.

The dialogue, organised by the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) in collaboration with the Republic of Uganda, will bring together over 300 delegates, including Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme and Constitutional Courts, as well as representatives of regional and international judicial bodies and other relevant stakeholders, from the 55 AU Member States.

Now, according to organizers,such a high level duologue with VVIPs would find no where else to be hosted than tycoon Sudhir’s Munyonyo based Commonwealth Resort and Speke Hotel.

The Judicial Dialogue is an annual event of the African Union aimed at improving networking among judicial officers, exchange of information and best practices and the proper administration of justice on the continent.

The Chairperson of the Uganda National Organizing Committee, Esta Nambayo, recently said the overall objective of Uganda hosting the Dialogue is to “enhance international judicial cooperation through sharing of Judiciary challenges and best practices among states across Africa and beyond.”

Nambayo, who was recently appointed judge of the High Court, said the three-day dialogue will bring together a total of 450 delegates from AU member states.

They include Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme and Constitutional Courts from the 55 AU member states, as well as regional and international judicial bodies and local participants from the Ugandan Government.

Nambayo revealed that the Dialogue will be consultative as well as participatory to facilitate exchange of information and sharing of experiences.

“There will be expert presentation on some of the sub-themes as well as sharing experiences from different jurisdictions at national, regional and continental level,” Nambayo noted.

The Dialogue will be preceded by the first meeting of the International Human Rights Forum from 28 to 29 October in Kampala.

This meeting which is hosted by the African Court, will be attended by the European Court of Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights under the theme, Operationalising the International Human Rights Forum and Enhancing Jurisprudential Dialogue.”
