Uganda Cranes Gears Up Preparations For FIFA World Qatar 2022 Qualifiers

Kampala: Uganda Cranes has intensified their preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers ahead of Kenya (away) and Mali (home) games.

With a full house at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi, the technical team is spoilt for choice as the players are aggressively fighting for the available slots.

On Saturday, the team conducted a recovery session in the morning before a very detailed session at the African Bible University playground in Lubowa, off Entebbe road.

The afternoon session involved the thorough tactical thesis, varying match situations and physical drills both for the outfield as well as the goalkeepers.

Head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, the performance and fitness director Franck Plaine, goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba Kisitu and the other members of the technical team all had a busy evening at the office.

Micho tested the players’ physic and tactical awareness throughout the interesting session before the team will be trimmed.

‘We have had a great week of training with sessions in the gym and on the field. The players have shown intent to deliver and this is good. We shall continue to monitor the performance for everyone on the team’ Micho disclosed.Sunday is a complete recovery for the players after a full week of non-stop training.

Uganda Cranes face Kenya Harambee Stars away on 2nd September 2021 in Nairobi.

Four days later, Uganda Cranes will host Mali on 6th September 2021 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. Rwanda is the other country in group E.
