Kampala: Uganda’s swift growing betting company MelBet Uganda has tapped on the blessings of Ugandan football after taking on the sponsorship of StarTimes Uganda Premier League club Kyetume FC in a multimillion deal to see the Mukono side facilitated throughout of the 2020/21 season that is set to commence on the 3rd December 2020.
Its worth noting that Kyetume football club finished 11th with 30 points from 25 games last season after the league ended prematurely due to the coronavirus crisis that forced a halt on all football activities in Uganda.
Having faced some downturns during the season and now the COVID-19 crisis, the club will benefit from MelBet’s noble gesture of supporting Uganda Sports through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that may see the club conquering others in the league.

As a matter, MelBet will support Kyetume FC on the acquisition of the season’s match and training kits, welfare of players, talent development and other operational expenses all aimed at pushing the local football at the highest peak in African continent.
Addressing the press CEO Melbet Uganda defined the partnership as a marriage that will see the two parties work together for the long term on an undisclosed amount inclusive of a revenue share.

About Kyetume FC
With three months left in the 2018–19 FUFA Big League season, Kyetume FC hired coach Allen Kabonge on a three month contract to push for promotion. Kabonge is best known for taking four different second division Ugandan sides to the top flight.
Kyetume eventually qualified for the FUFA Big League playoffs. Robert Ssentongo scored a hat trick for Kyetume in the promotion playoff finals, which the club won 4–1 over Kansai Plascon, earning them a spot in the Ugandan top flight for the first time in their history.
